London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, 2022. Ripple Nature Reserve: Ecological Survey & Management Brief, January 2023 - December 2025

Denis J Vickers was commissioned by the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham to undertake further ecological surveys of the 7.9ha Ripple Nature Reserve Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation in 2022. This built upon an ecological appraisal carried out by the Vickers earlier in 2022 (which chiefly reviewed existing data and documents pertaining to the site) and facilitated the writing of a management brief. The document provided a snapshot of the nature reserve’s condition during summer 2022, including records of current flora and fauna. It also provided recommendations for further works intended to safeguard priority and protected species, and those required to control / eradicate invasive non-native species (INNS).
